You will only send money to pay the item that you want to buy BUT the shipping costs you will pay for it when the goods arrive in Kenya as you pick the goods from the kenya warehouse of the shipping company used.
You are not involved in kra custom clearance of your goods. The Shipping companies consolidate clients goods and do the kra custom clearance for them.
So the shipping costs you pay has already factored in the taxes for clearance so you don't pay any other costs.
There are two ways to ship goods
BY AIR
- How long does it take to send goods by air?
they used to take 7days but now they take 10 to 14days to arrive.
- How much do they charge?
They use the weigh of your goods to determine how much you will pay as shipping costs. One kilogram is 12usd. So if your goods are 5kg you will pay 12$ x 5kg =$60
BY SEA
how long does it take to send goods by air
-they take 35days to 45days to arrive.
how much do they charge?
They use the size/volume of your goods to determine how much you will pay as shipping costs.
They measures the size of your package 📦 with a tape measure to determine the length width and height of your package 📦.
They use CBM which means 1cm3/ One cubic meter.
1CBM is when the length of your box is 1meter, the width of your box is 1meter and the height of your box is 1 meter. (m3=length x width x height)

1cbm is 56000kshs
So if you have 0.3cbm you will pay 0.3 x56000=16,800kshs
Note: The sea shipping is cheaper and good for bulky goods and heavy goods.it takes longer but it is certainly cheaper than sending by air
